Birds & Wildlife

Shooting birds and wildlife was a long time passion. I shot mainly with a Canon 5D Mark IV, Canon R, R5 and R6. Laterally have been using the SL3, whilst it's not really cut out for action photography, I have been able to capture some great static shots with it. Here is a small varied selection. Captured at the Cheetah enclosure at Colchester Zoo, the young Cheetahs were playing a hunting game. Caught this one sneaking through the trees about to pounce on his sibling.

Guillemot Group

Shot on the Farne Islands, Northumberland, from a moving boat with an 800mm lens. I was lucky to spot a group with some greenery in the distance behind them. Gives the image some pop.

Leopard

These guys are big and difficult to spot in their enclosure at Colchester Zoo. Shot through glass so a tricky one to process.

Local Birds

Red Darter

A Red Darter Dragonfly, in the hotel gardens at Kandy Sri Lanka. Amazing sharpness from the Sigma lens.

Snake Eagle

A snake eagle enjoys his catch. Our spotter seen this fellow in the trees right beside our truck. A lot of vegetation so tricky one to capture. The SL3 did a great job.
