Monochrom

Whilst I convert a lot of colour photos to B&W, I have really grown to love shooting with Leica Monochrom cameras. Here is a selection of pictures taken with these cameras along with some conversions. Can you tell the difference? First photo featured and Awarded on 1x.com. Tin Hat Triptych

Shot a series from across the street of this office reception area trying to catch people walking past the light shades. Very tricky to get it right these shots what with passing traffic and people walking by on the street, these were taken over the course of an hour or so and combined into a triptych.

Archway Reflection

Shot on a photowalk with my brothers, this shot required a bit of acrobatics to frame the arch in the reflection pool.

The Queens Gambit

Strolling by the Seine in Paris I caught these guys playing Chess using the light from their phone, propped up by a snack can. I sat on a ledge and shot while they were immersed in their game.
My favourite shot with the Q2, it could focus practically in the dark.

We happened upon this scene, driving from Montalcino Tuscany Italy. Very flat light so a B&W version was the Best option.

Zig Zag Escalator

Shot in Liverpool St. Elizabeth line, on my way back from a Joel Meyerowitz talk on the new MEV1 (which I had just purchased), I love the patterns in this one, which cried out for B&W conversion.
